It is important to plan before filming on location as you will need to think about things that could possibly go wrong and how to get around them. This helps to ensure that you will get a good quality recording as you are prepared. It could also save time as you know what you will be doing before you arrive there.
If you do not plan then possible things can go wrong and you will find yourself stuck when trying to fix them. This could be because you haven't brought extra equipment when you might of ended up needing it. It will also waste time as you will have to find out what's gone wrong.
